Maintenance Technician
Reporting to the Plant Manager of the Egg Division, the Maintenance Technician will support production equipment uptime, implement preventive maintenance, and utilize analytical and diagnostic skills in troubleshooting and repair of food processing and packaging equipment, operate the boiler and perform all safety protocols. The main responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform preventive maintenance as per program requirements
- Respond appropriately to emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to reduce manufacturing machine downtime
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Operate the steam boiler and perform all safety protocols
- Update and maintain information in the system
- Build positive and productive relationships with internal customers and suppliers
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Coordinate activities of outside contractors when required
- Perform all tasks safely taking responsibility for safety of self and others
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Completion of four-year apprenticeship in industrial mechanic/millwright program or a combination of education and years of manufacturing work experience in the trade. Industrial Millwright trade certification is preferred.
- Class 5 Power Engineering certificate or currently in the process of writing the certification exam
- Background in PLC programming and troubleshooting is ideal
- Physical strength and stamina to do maintenance and repair work
- Proven record of safety
- Proper work ethics, teamwork, and personal management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively

Procurement Analyst
The primary responsibilities of this intermediate level position are to effectively execute the established tactical procurement and analysis of commodities, supplies, equipment and services used by the organization. Constant and effective communication with manufacturing, customer service, warehouse and finance is required in order to maintain appropriate levels of inventory.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Follows established practices and procedures to acquire goods and services in a timely fashion from known or sourced suppliers where requirements/need risk and complexity are low to medium and costs are low to medium value
- Negotiates terms and places basic purchase and/or contract orders
- Communicates with internal customers to explore and identify value-add opportunities such as using a different process or supplier
- Communicates with suppliers to ensure certain expectations and terms are clear, understood and documented
- Reviews requisitions for accuracy and completeness
- Processes purchase orders and overdue orders or lost deliveries by following up and discussing with involved parties to expedite or otherwise resolve according to standard procurement practices
- Develops competitive bid documents such as Request for Quote, Tender, Request of Information, Request for Expression of Interest and Request for Proposal and conducts the necessary processes associated with the bid type, including: developing comprehensive evaluation matrices appropriate for the bid type, and preparing Recommendation Reports at the conclusion of the bid process that capture relevant information about the process followed and the results of the decision process
- To obtain appropriate approvals to finalize negotiations and execute contracts; and preparing debriefing documents for unsuccessful suppliers at the conclusion of a bid process
- Maintains department documentation to maintain complete and accurate file records and to ensure and demonstrate compliance to policy
- Reviews regular status reports, identifies items of concern and initiates appropriate action
- Conducts market research to gather information about suppliers and products and meets with supplier representatives on behalf of Vanderpol Food Group.
- Participates in procurement processes and projects led by Procurement Coordinator or Supply Chain Manager by performing supporting activities such as sourcing suppliers, conducting market and product research, drafting documents for review, etc.
- Participates in continuous learning and professional development activities such as attending conferences and workshops
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.
To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements.
- 2+ Years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience
- Experience in negotiating supply and service agreements.
- Advance knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service driven
- Demonstrably strong people management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and Supply Chain management
