Systems Analyst - Abbotsford

The Vanderpol Group have recently implemented MicroSoft Dynamics (Navision) as the core information system integrating all companies and product lines. We need an organized individual who will play a key role in helping us manage and grow our business information systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate in the position of Systems Analyst will report to the Manager of Information Technology. As a member of a small team, we are looking for someone to work closely with the senior business group leaders developing and implementing several large scale projects to take our business to the next level with manufacturing, inventory control, and accounting. This position will be responsible for – developing, maintaining, and enhancing our information reporting and business management systems (MS Dynamics), giving our business and production leaders accurate data as the basis for sound decisions and planning future goals.

Education & Skills Requirements:

Post-secondary degree or diploma – Computer Information Systems
Minimum three years experience in maintaining, or enhancing computer based information systems
Proven experience in understanding the financial and sales reporting of a mid-size company
Computer Skills including: MS Dynamics (Navision 4.0), MS SQL, MS Access, Crystal Reports 10, ODBC concepts, and strong Documentation skills as well as MS Office skills. A further asset would be a sound understanding of, MS Server 2003, MS Exchange 2003 and a thorough understanding of Networks and Network Topology. There will be Application support and User training required
The aptitude to recognize and initiate improvements to systems and procedures
The strong organizational skills needed to take a lead role as champion of a project and take it through the full life cycle to end user functionality.
Ability to think, plan, and act strategically
Creative flare, diplomacy and a sense of humor

DMV-Vitalus Ingredients N.V.
DMV-Vitalus develops and markets nutritional and functional ingredients derived from whey and milk concentrates. The protein concentrates are manufactured at Vitalus and sourced from DMV International to meet the customer needs. DMV International is the Ingredients division of Campina and provides global sales to industrial clients for food and pharmaceutical applications. Campino is a co-operative company active in the development, production, sales and distribution of dairy and dairy-related consumer products and advanced ingredients for the food, nutrition and pharmaceutical industries.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving annual sales and profit objectives through the development, maintenance, and enhancement of customer relationships. Key customers include national brand name leaders in the food and nutrition marketplace. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective business plan. Utilizing effective selling techniques and marketing strategies will enable you to expand product demand. At least 50% travel from our Abbotsford-based head office will be required.

Education & Skills Requirements:

Post-secondary degree or diploma – Marketing, Food/Nutritional Science or other related fields
Minimum three years of Sales Experience in selling ingredients to Canadian Food and Nutrition Companies
Working knowledge of the Canadian supply management systems an asset
Fluent in English and French
Proven negotiation, communication and presentation skills
Ability to think, plan, and act strategically
Creative flare, diplomacy and a sense of humor
Computer savvy.

Dryer Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare product for dryer
Operate the dryer and perform routine maintenance as required
Package and load the finished product
Run CIP and COP on all equipment after each production run.

Skills Required:

Good English skills (verbal and written); able to follow detailed instructions
Experienced in operating manual and power pallet jacks and forklifts
Knowledge of HAACP or other quality systems an asset
Able to lift 25 kgs. (55 lbs.)
Capable of dealing with several things at the same time
Basic computer skills an asset.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Perform other duties as assigned
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
